Week 4 - Junior competition Information & Team Lists

Picture
Hi CTA Parents/caregivers.

I just wanted to welcome those who have just joined our junior program.  My name is Herb Kerr I am the junior coordinator at CTA.

The below information is in two parts first being Club Touch information for our Monday night participation program.  Second part is information for our representative program, this is for those players wishing to play at the next level.

Club Touch (Monday Competition)
We have had a very successful season start to our Monday night competition.

Our great start means we must make some tough decisions for the betterment of the competition and player development.

There are team changes for teams u12 and up only a few players will be affected.
We have created a new team in the boys and girls U14/16’s age group in order to give players more game time.  Please check team lists for changes.

We thank you for your patience in this process of sorting teams. It takes time to make a proper assessment of players and balance the teams.

There is also a need for us to start developing players so in the u12 girls’ teams’ coaches will be nominating players to participate in game development on Field 2 which starts at 6:00pm.  Please go to your usual coach for instructions.

Important information for all visitors to our club.
  •  Players and officials only in the sub box area.
  • All visitors must remain at least 3 meters clear of the side-line or dead ball line.
  • No one is permitted between fields 1-3,  2-4, 5-6.
  • All spectators, players and officials are expected to show each other complete respect.
  • Any issues or inquiries should be made to the Junior coordinator or CTA manager at the office.
  • Parents are not to approach coaches, officials or players directly
Seniors pathways. It is a big thrill for juniors to be offered to play seniors but before committing to any senior teams you should always check with the junior coordinator who can advise juniors on the best teams for them to participate and develop.

Representative Touch.
Our Musters for our representative season start this week.
All participants are required to register their interest and availability for the dates and times on our website.
I encourage all those who love the sport to have a go at representative touch football if you have any questions ask myself or our friendly people at the counter.

Exciting Changes to our Junior Program in 2021!

At Caboolture Touch we have used these Guiding Principles to develop our Junior Program for 2021
  1. Participation
  2. Development of Players, Coaches and Referees (developing a love of the game and as individuals)

Using these Principles we hope to achieve:
"A balanced and fair competition focusing on Participation and Development"
What this means:
** Teams may not remain the same as in 2020, we will be grading teams/players to ensure an even distribution of talent across the competitions.
** We will have a "Buddy System" in place so kids won't be taken alone when moved between teams.
** Players MUST play in their own age group, players wanting to play in an older age group MUST apply through the Age Coordinators - if approved they will have to remain in their own age group as well as the older one.
